About Green Gorilla Movers – serving Anchorage since 2020
The idea to create a moving company was an easy one. Dacia Smith, the founder and owner behind the operation, is a logistics professional who has been working in the business for quite some time now. As a kid, Dacia was an aspiring semi-pro Tetris player and his interest in placing things in the most efficient and stable way followed him into adulthood. Dacia served 4 years as a Navy Corpsman and moved to Alaska 2017 to continue his career in logistics. His desire to use his skills (both spatial and physical) led him to create his own business in 2020. And so… Green Gorilla Movers was born to serve the Anchorage community and the surrounding areas.
Dacia and the Green Gorilla Team brings trustworthiness and timeliness into every job they take. We know very well that the things You want to move are precious and very much irreplaceable and therefore we handle everything with the utmost care.
These are the standards that you can expect of Dacia and his fellow movers; a team of logistics professionals. Dacia will be at your disposal should you have questions or concerns.

Residential and Office Moves
Moving can be a daunting task but the good news is that you don’t have to do it by yourself. When you hire us, we commit to your move and get the job done for you. The most important thing for us is that You are happy with the services we provide. We pride ourselves on being efficient and take good care of your belongings.
We like to focus on moves in the Anchorage area and Mat-Su Valley, however, we also venture to the Kenai Borough ever so often.
We charge for our services by the hour. We can do free virtual/phone estimates and also site visits for household moves to get a better idea about the job. Based on the number of items and the distance traveled, we will provide you with an estimate of how many movers a move will require and how long it will take.
As of October 2021 we also offer short-term storage for clients who need space for their belongings between moving out of their old place and moving into their new home. Rates start at $40/week. Items are stored in our very own climate-controlled and secure warehouse.
Local (intrastate) moves are generally based on a per-hour cost for the personnel and
the number of vehicles that the mover provides (up to a certain distance, with longer
distances based on the weight of your shipment and the mileage it is transported) and the
level of liability that the mover will cover in the event of loss or damage is generally
less than would apply for an interstate move.
Once you have compiled a list of movers, inform them of the destination and timing of your
move. Ask them about the types of services they offer. Also ask them to explain their
estimates in detail and to give you a copy. If any company refuses to give you a written
estimate, you should eliminate them from consideration. Then carefully compare to see which
mover best suits your needs and budget.
The cost of your move will be based on the actual weight of your belongings and the distance
they are shipped, plus the amount of packing and other services that you require.
To help you anticipate the cost of your move, movers will give you an estimate of the price.
Be sure to get written estimates from at least 3 different movers so that you can compare
their services and prices.
