Currently, we have over 250 non-driving employees and more than 900 drivers with the vast majority of the drivers as owner-operators. In fact, we love our owner-operator model as it provides us with the ability to flex up or down to meet peak periods At the same time, we can incentivize the owner-operators to perform at their best resulting in exceptional customer service.

We accomplish this by narrowing our focus to Intermodal trucking and Crosstown trucking.

Intermodal trucking

As the house carrier for one of the nation’s largest retailers, we understand the complex needs of today’s leading companies. With senior leadership comprised of more than 100 years of experience in the industry, you won’t find another organization that can take care of your intermodal needs as well as C&K.

C&K Trucking also supports over the road moves on a case-by-case basis and we offer trucking services for both domestic and ocean freight. For our clients with heavier loads, we have tri-axle chassis available to handle these deliveries. We also can accommodate refrigerated containers and Hazmat. Ancillary services such as transloading and pick up/delivery services are also available. With every job, our clients know their product is in good hands.

With access to ports and contracts with all railroads, we have the “know-how” to get the job done. And with a management team consisting of experienced leaders, we know how to correct a problem should an issue arise. That’s why C&K has been the carrier of choice for intermodal needs for some of the nation’s largest retailers.

Crosstown trucking

C&K originated in crosstowns in Chicago and has grown to be one of the largest crosstown providers in Chicago, as well as Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Norfolk, VA, Memphis, TN and Jacksonville, FL.

C&K is a house carrier for the major railroads in Chicago, creating efficiencies and economies of scale. The key to our success lies in the relationships and alliances we have with the railroads, ports and shipping lines. In fact, we have on-site personnel at 3 of the 4 Class 1 railroads in Chicago. C&K has in excess of 200 tractors dedicated to the Chicago cross-towns and operates 365 days a year, 24/7 with a minimum of 3 people on staff at all times to service our customers and quickly resolve any issues.
