Our History
In 1973, our owner Bobby Freeman, began his career as a mover, loading trucks on weekends during high school. After graduating high school, Bob became a driver/mover on a truck, moving customers nationwide. “It was fun and exciting meeting so many customers and moving their families into their new homes helping them get started with their new lives and futures. It was a very rewarding job.”
After 2 years on the road, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and began working part-time to pay tuition.
In 1980, Bob moved to Malibu, California to become a full-time musician but as fate would have it, he opened his first moving company in 1982.
Through hard work and dedication, in 1985 the business grew and the first New York location was opened. We thrived and by 1993, we owned 6 locations nationwide. Our first company name was “Budget Movers” and as the years went by, we changed the name of our Florida locations to Affordable Florida movers. It’s all in the family! Bobby’s son Jake and 2 daughters Kate and Jenn grew up in the business and run their own locations in Dutchess County, New York. Our family appreciates the opportunity to move your family!

It can be hard to move a company, whether you are a small office or a big warehouse. It takes a lot of teamwork and from the very start, it needs perfect preparation.
Affordable Florida Movers has had the privilege of relocating thousands of companies, with over 35 years of industry experience. We’ve been moving offices, manufacturing factories, hotels, and almost all in between!
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
All loose items must be packed in boxes to prevent loss or damage while moving. It is
recommended that you pack all items and leave the drawers empty.
