Itz-Ohlson Transport Inc. was founded in 1991 by Charles Itz and James Ohlson. Both Itz and Ohlson already had experience in the trucking business and prior to that Itz worked for a steamship agent/steamship line and Ohlson was with a broker/forwarder in the Port of Boston.
Sadly, Jimmy Ohlson passed away far too young in 1995 but hard work and perseverance and of course, satisfied customers, have kept Itz-Ohlson Transport on the road for 20 more years. We’re looking forward to another 20 years, one container at a time!
Jimmy is remembered here every day and his office visits are missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Itz-Ohlson Transport is an Intermodal carrier providing service to Importers and Exporters in Eastern New England via the Ports of Boston and New York/New Jersey. We specialize in intermodal and we are in the port every day. Our drivers are owner-operators with TWIC cards, the proper port clearances and RFID tags and by the end of 2015 all of our vehicles will be GPS equipped. We have a mix of chassis; some are air-ride, some are tri-axle, some are 40′ goosenecks and of course, we lease chassis from the chassis pool operators to provide capacity when and where it is needed.
Contact your move coordinator as soon as you can if your move dates have changed.
He/she can process any changes to your plan and discuss updates; keep in mind your estimate
may change depending on the dates you selected.
This is one of the most frequently asked moving questions. Often you don’t know when exactly
you will move and thus you can’t schedule your move in advance. It is best though if you can
start contacting movers at least a month in advance. The earlier the better because then you
will have the time to research the moving companies and schedule your move for the desired
day.
