Since 1980, we have the distinction of being one of the few businesses in the country that exclusively arranges auto transport. We only use licensed, insured carriers and well-secured storage facilities.

Open Transport Carrier
The most popular method of transport is on a carrier. This is an open, two-level carrier that holds approximately eight-to-ten vehicles per transport. Vehicles are transported in accordance with your specific instructions. Door-to-door arrangements are accommodated with loading and unloading, usually at a nearby terminal. Transport times are estimated by days, and all vehicles are insured while on the carrier. American Auto Transporters is a DOT licensed broker which arranges transportation nationwide.

Every vehicle is inspected for your protection and all incoming vehicles are hand washed in our modern facility before delivery. International/Overseas Car Shipping
To Europe, the Orient, the Islands and the world, we can assist you with auto transport. This procedure begins by obtaining your international rate from qualified and knowledgeable agencies. Your vehicle is transported to the designated port by carrier, and we will guide you in understanding all international codes.

Your vehicle is transported by ship to the designated port of your choice, and we will guide you in understanding all international codes. We offer roll on / roll off service where your vehicle is driven into the belly of the ship or for added security we can ship your car in an enclosed container.
What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
How do I prepare my appliances for moving?
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
