The Dana Companies have been in existence since 1970! The founder of our company, Ron Dana, was a lease operator hauling hazardous commodities in the late 1960’s. Observing some inefficiencies and missing services for the customer he was hauling for, Mr. Dana bought some of his own trailers, and started contracting his services. His business sense and service offerings soon required the purchase of more equipment, the hiring of drivers and dispatch staff. DANA TRANSPORT INC was born.
From there, the purchases of tank wash facilities in key chemical markets gave Dana Transport a base of operations to extend their superior service offerings to large and small customers alike.
Since that time, the companies have experienced substantial growth, but have also grown through acquisition. The Dana Companies are born.
Dry Bulk Program
Mr. Dana’s first mission statement was to be important to the Customer & build a company the industry needs. Safety, growth, efficiency, full service, and profitability all have to be components to achieve this. This provides the backbone to who we are and where we are going.
Dana’s dry bulk program strives on a daily basis to provide effective quality services that spreads positive energy with both our customers & our employees. Coupled with the partner approach, achieving our customer’s short & long term distribution goals becomes a natural process.

You have the right to receive an estimate based on a physical (in-house) survey of your
shipment. Under the regulations, your mover must base your estimate (either binding,
non-binding, or not-to-exceed), on a physical survey of the household goods to be moved if
the goods are located with a 50-mile radius of your mover’s (or his agent’s) place of business.
You may elect to waive this requirement for a physical survey, but if you elect to do so,
you must sign a written waiver of your rights.
In all likelihood, you will find that an on-site estimate based on a physical survey
of the items that you plan on moving will be more accurate than an estimate that you
provide to your mover over the telephone or the Internet. So, unless circumstances warrant
(normally due to the time constraints of a short-notice move or because you are only shipping
a few items) think carefully before you elect to waive the required physical survey
of your shipment.
