COMPANY HISTORY
For 72 years Durst has been satisfying customers with its trucking, warehousing, and unique special services.
Founded in 1935 by Chester Durst with one truck, he hauled and recycled coal ashes for commercial and residential customers. On Christmas Eve of 1935, Sears, Roebuck and Company entered into an emergency contract with Chester to deliver bicycles for the Christmas holiday. Durst Trucking was born that night and quickly expanded to 10 trucks dedicated to Sears’ deliveries.
Since then, Chester’s two sons have taken the business, providing excellent service like their father did over 50 years.
Currently, the Durst Company has more than 100,000 square feet of warehouse space and 20 pieces of equipment that service commercial, residential and corporate customers from all over the world.

The most versatile and economical trucking, warehousing and special services company in the industry.
We base our business on trust, value, courtesy and timely service.
Every customer is important to us.
Our reputation comes from 72 years of friendly, trustworthy and sincere business relationships.
Our charges are low, yet our service will exceed your expectations.
We can provide emergency service, any time – day or night – any day of the year.

Q Do I need to be home during the move?

On the day of the move you need to be present. There is paperwork to sign and you need to
show the movers exactly what is being moved. After the movers have loaded the truck you will
be ask to do a walk through. That is the time to point out anything that may have been missed
once the truck drives away they are done.

At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the rooms written on the boxes
(ie., bedroom, kitchen, garage). Furniture will be placed in the location you specify.
It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed.
If the movers have to keep rearranging and switching furniture around it will take longer
and you are paying hourly.

Q How long does it take to move?

This depends on many factors, such as the time of year, weather conditions, size of your
shipment, time required to load and unload, and the direction and distance your shipment
is traveling.

Because the furnishings of the average household will not fill a truck, it is often necessary
for two or more shipments to be loaded on the same truck. Each shipment is carefully
sectioned off from the others.

With the help of computer-assisted dispatching system, pickup and delivery dates
are scheduled according to the origins and destinations of individual shipments on the trucks,
as well as shipment weight.
