About Moove In Self Storage
Moove In Self Storage was founded in 1998 by the Gilliland family, who are originally from Warriors Mark, PA. Yes, there are supposed to be two Os in Moove! The story behind the name all started on the farm.
You see, John H. Gilliland grew up on Gillbrook farms raising and milking registered Holstein cows with his family. His father, John G. Gilliland, and mother, Karen, decided to sell the last of the cows in the late 80s. In the mid 90s, John H. came back to Pennsylvania after going to college (Cal Poly, majoring in Dairy Science of all things) and working in commercial real estate in southern California.
After working for a couple of local PA real estate companies, his entrepreneurial spirit was bursting within him and he decided to strike out on his own in the niche market of self storage.
John G., Karen and John H. sat around the family dinner table working on the business plan for the new venture. When the topic of a name came up, John H. said, “Well, we are moving out of the dairy business and moving into the storage business, maybe we should call it Moove In Self Storage!” And thus, the name was born.
Safe and Secure Storage
We Know Secure Storage Is Important To You
Your property is very important to you and you want to ensure it is safe when you store it. Don’t worry – it’s important to us as well. We help keep it safe with our secure storage units. We go above industry standards and provide the following at most or all of our facilities.
Property Manager On Site. All of our locations have a highly trained and professional property manager on the property during normal business hours. We take secure storage as seriously as you do. Our property managers take several actions daily to ensure the security of our locations, such as: daily review of after hours gate activity; physical inspection of all storage units and surrounding grounds; and control our recording systems to research anything that may have taken place after hours. Our property managers are there to help you.
Fencing. Having our locations fenced in keeps out unwanted visitors so you can feel safe while accessing your unit.
Tenant ID. We require all of our tenants to provide a photo ID when signing a rental agreement in person, and we ask for a driver’s license number when renting a storage unit online. We know who has access to our property at all times and can track down a tenant quickly.
Individually Coded Access Gate.
We require all tenants to enter their individual access code when entering and also when leaving our locations. This allows for efficient tracking of who is coming and going from our properties, and ensures that only actual tenants can be inside our fencing at any time. This feature provides you with safe access to your secure storage unit even after the property manager has left for the day. Gate access hours are 6am-10pm daily.
On the day of the move you need to be present. There is paperwork to sign and you need to
show the movers exactly what is being moved. After the movers have loaded the truck you will
be ask to do a walk through. That is the time to point out anything that may have been missed
once the truck drives away they are done.
At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the rooms written on the boxes
(ie., bedroom, kitchen, garage). Furniture will be placed in the location you specify.
It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed.
If the movers have to keep rearranging and switching furniture around it will take longer
and you are paying hourly.
This depends on many factors, such as the time of year, weather conditions, size of your
shipment, time required to load and unload, and the direction and distance your shipment
is traveling.
Because the furnishings of the average household will not fill a truck, it is often necessary
for two or more shipments to be loaded on the same truck. Each shipment is carefully
sectioned off from the others.
With the help of computer-assisted dispatching system, pickup and delivery dates
are scheduled according to the origins and destinations of individual shipments on the trucks,
as well as shipment weight.
