Charlie Jensen established Jensen Movers & Storage Inc. in the city of Philadelphia during the early 1900s. Mr. Jensen started his moving business with one wagon and the motto “keep moving”. Even then, Jensen Movers was recognized for delivering quality services and personalized attention.

Fast forward to 1963. Jensen Movers is prospering, delivering household moving services to a growing customer base. Meanwhile, Jensen Movers’ future owner has recently come to the United States, having fled his country to escape political and social unrest. Arriving in Pennsylvania with a young family to support and no financial means, this man begins to rebuild. He takes any job, working day and night to feed and shelter his family. Before long he discovers the household moving business. With just one truck, one helper and lots of determination, he offers his moving services to Main Line families, working long into the night until every job is done and his customers are fully satisfied.

In 1967, he purchases Jensen Movers and focuses his energies on expanding the company’s fleet, facilities, and operations. Jensen Movers begins to deliver comprehensive local and long distance moving services, offering packing, crating, and storage capabilities. As the years pass, this man’s children join the company, ensuring that Jensen Movers remains a family-owned company, dedicated to delivering quality and personal attention for years to come.

When you make a move within a 40-mile radius of your current location, it is considered a local move. The cost for local moving is determined by the amount of labor and time involved in moving you from your current home to your new one. Additional charges will apply for extra services such as packing, crating, rigging and storage.

On moving day, your crew will report and begin your move by first enveloping your possessions in quilted moving pads. They will then stretch wrap the items for added protection. Your goods will then be loaded on the truck. At delivery we will unload all of your goods, place them in your desired location and reassemble any items that we took apart. Our goal is to provide you with an efficient and stress free move.

The charges for long distance moves are based on the weight of your goods plus any additional services you require. The weight is determined at an official weigh station after your goods are loaded. If you find it necessary to have your possessions stored, we can provide this service. We operate our own private storage facility, which is secure, clean, and contemporary. We offer long and short-term as well as regular and climate-controlled storage.

On moving day, before your goods are loaded, an inventory of those goods will be completed. This inventory serves as a receipt that we have your possessions in our care. When your goods are loaded, they will first be blanket wrapped and then enveloped in stretch wrap for added protection.
