I.M.S. Inc. is a moving company and freight forwarder, licensed and bonded by the FMC, formed in 1974 in the Washington D.C area.

IMS specializes in international moving. We handle your goods as we would handle ours.

At IMS, we have an experience of over 43 years within the shipping industry (and over 100 years cumulative knowledge), making us more than capable of managing and handling all of your shipping requirements. We established a branch office in New York-New Jersey in 1997 due to high demand. This fulfilled the moving demands of our United Nations (UN), Corporate, Military and other private customers. We have also added a permanent sales and operations office in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area for our NATO and Foreign Military clients.

Our team aces up our business. The ratio of turnover is very low among our staff which reflects the dedication of our employees to the job at hand and to our customers’ satisfaction. We carry full time moving staff all year long which is a rarity in our industry.

To support our customers world-wide, we have multi- lingual staff speaking German, French, Spanish and Korean. This enables us to understand their concerns with clarity keeping their multi-cultural backgrounds in mind.

We do not need a large marketing platform because our friendly services and our excellent performance speak for themselves. Usually we work through a word of mouth referral system. Whether you’re transporting a larger number of goods or a smaller shipment, our trained staff has developed specialized packaging methods, using our own equipment to ensure minimal damage to your precious belongings. As we have developed great relations through the years with high quality destination agents across the world, we are able to offer a seamless and efficient move door to door.

We can store your goods until they are sent to the final destination if required. We have a warehouse connected to our offices and offer on-site storage to keep your shipments ready for shipping with great oversight of the safety of your effects.

From personalized moving packages to detailed moving plans, IMS ensures that every client proceeds with all the necessary regulations for a successful deployment of a corporate relocation. We are familiar with the level of sensitivity involved in the corporate moving business, we ensure a high standard of confidentiality and security for each of our corporate relocation projects.

IMS provides corporate moving services across international borders as well as between states.

RESIDENTIAL MOVES
Residential moving requires a lot of planning. IMS Residential packages involve packing and unpacking of used or new household goods with high quality packaging material. Custom made wooden crates can add another level of protection should the need arise. IMS Loads and unloads containers directly at the residence whenever possible.

You no longer need to worry about your belongings nor do you have to consider selling them when moving abroad, IMS provides residential moving door to door worldwide.

STORAGE
To keep your goods in safe and secured premises, IMS has a warehouse containing palletized storage so that your goods can be kept safe and sound for short and long-term periods. Our brick cinderblock warehouse is strong, climate protected, convenient and alarmed.

VEHICLE TRANSPORT
IMS provides RO-RO (roll on – roll off) transport services from one place to another, using our own company trailer to safely transport your vehicle/s to the pier. We can transport your automobile as well to any place you need it to be. IMS also containerizes your vehicle at your residence. All vehicles are transported while being insured, hence providing a preventative measure in case of a mishap.
