We are DC Movers LLC a fully licensed and insured moving company with offices in Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro and Charlotte. For us moving is a wonderful service to provide. We treat it like we are your doctor or lawyer. In our estimation very few services provided are more important than ours. We take into our possession your most important items and deliver them safely to their new location. Trust, if it’s important to you it’s important to us.
We were established in 2000 by three industrious UNC-Chapel Hill students. Brian, Tank and Develynne. The three young men were approached by a man who did moving at their church. He asked if they knew anything about moving and if they wanted to help him. Develynne had been a manager for six years at a moving company before he returned to school and was very knowledgeable about all things furniture. Brian and Tank were young, strong and eager. After helping the man from church they decided to start a company themselves to pay for school and have a flexible schedule they could control. They moved fellow students and residence of Chapel Hill for the next two year. Upon graduation Develynne decide to continue the business. Twenty years later DC Movers has locations in four cities state wide and delivers quality service at budget friendly prices.
What you should expect from our service is polite, courteous workers who are attentive to your moving needs. We are eager to identify your concerns with the move. When we arrive we do a walk through with you to get an idea of what is being moved and to ascertain the best way to load your move. We then prepare every item for shipping. This entails the wrapping of your wooden and fragile belongings in furniture pads before they leave the house. Fabric furniture is shrink wrapped to prevent any dirt or moisture damage. Where necessary, floor and walls are protected with cardboard sheets to prevent scratches and smudges. These precautions are at no charge and part of every move. When finished you are given a total and the charges explained along with an invoice of the charges.

Local (intrastate) moves are generally based on a per-hour cost for the personnel and
the number of vehicles that the mover provides (up to a certain distance, with longer
distances based on the weight of your shipment and the mileage it is transported) and the
level of liability that the mover will cover in the event of loss or damage is generally
less than would apply for an interstate move.
Once you have compiled a list of movers, inform them of the destination and timing of your
move. Ask them about the types of services they offer. Also ask them to explain their
estimates in detail and to give you a copy. If any company refuses to give you a written
estimate, you should eliminate them from consideration. Then carefully compare to see which
mover best suits your needs and budget.
The cost of your move will be based on the actual weight of your belongings and the distance
they are shipped, plus the amount of packing and other services that you require.
To help you anticipate the cost of your move, movers will give you an estimate of the price.
Be sure to get written estimates from at least 3 different movers so that you can compare
their services and prices.
