Rockey’s Moving is a long distance moving company that offers moving services from coast-to-coast. If you’re planning an out-of-state move, it’s important to work with a skilled and experienced company. Unlike a local move, moving long distance requires more organization and planning. It’s more difficult than a short distance move for many reasons:
Unfamiliarity with the area: If you’re moving to a new, unfamiliar city, it will likely take you longer to get your bearings. You may need to schedule trips in advance to scope out the town and find a neighborhood.
Renting or buying a home: Finding somewhere to live, isn’t as easy when you’re still hundreds or thousands of miles away.
All in One Trip: Unlike with a local move, you can’t make continuous runs back and forth between your old place and new. On moving day, you must have the entire house packed up and ready to load onto the moving truck. Getting it all done in one fell swoop takes lots of coordination and prep work.
More Time to Settle In: A long distance move is more demanding on all members of your household. Not only are you likely adjusting to a new job, but your kids are getting used to new schools and making new friends. The emotional toll of an interstate move is one of the most challenging aspects.
Long Distance Moving Services
Rockey’s Moving is proud to offer our customers stellar moving services. Here are the types of jobs you can book through us:
Small Moves
If you live in a small studio or 1-bedroom apartment, you may not think it’s worth hiring a mover to transport your things. However, we accommodate small moves and keep them budget-friendly by consolidating your load with those of other customers. You can skip renting a U-Haul and leave the lifting to us.
Furniture Moves
Whether you have just one bedroom set and a handful of living room items or an entire estate’s worth of furniture, you can count on us to be your furniture movers. Our team makes sure every item is wrapped with moving blankets and plastic wrap, so it’s protected during your move.
Cross-Country Moves
Did you know the distance from coast-to-coast is over 2500 miles? That’s a lot of roadway to cover. If you’re planning a coast-to-coast or cross-country relocation, a road trip of this length might seem daunting. But, our moving crews do it every week! We’ll pack up your belongings and get them safely transported to the other side of the country.
In all likelihood, you will find that an on-site estimate based on a physical survey
of the items that you plan on moving will be more accurate than an estimate that you
provide to your mover over the telephone or the Internet. So, unless circumstances warrant
(normally due to the time constraints of a short-notice move or because you are only shipping
a few items) think carefully before you elect to waive the required physical survey
of your shipment.
If you are receiving a non-binding estimate, the charges that your mover assesses on your
shipment must be based on the actual weight of the shipment. Your mover may not lawfully
assess transportation charges on shipments with non-binding estimates on cubic feet, volume,
time (hourly) or on any basis other than weight. Also, the federal regulations require that
shipment weights must be determined on a state certified scale with a copy of the weigh
master’s tickets provided to you in support of the final invoice.
