Pricing:

Local moves are priced on an hourly basis depending on the number of men. Charges begin once the crew leaves our warehouse, and ends once they return. We do have a two hour minimum charge for all local moving jobs. Our hourly rate includes labor, truck, transportation, mileage, equipment, shrink wrap and quilt pads. Packing materials such as boxes are charged separately.

The long distance movers must register themselves with the Department of Transportation to carry out an interstate move. An international move is a move-completed over-sea. The cost of this service is based on weight and (cubic) measurement of the household belongings when packed for shipment. International moving services include air or ocean transportation charges, as well as packing and unpacking services.

At Vermont Moving & Storage we’re committed to providing customized solutions for your moving and storage needs. If you’re planning to store household goods for the short term or the long term, our state of the art Storage Facilities give you the convenience, safety and affordability you deserve.

For those new to storing their household goods, it’s important to be aware of the differences between “self-storage” facilities” and warehouses that are managed by licensed professional moving and storage companies. Following are some of the more important issues to consider when evaluating your household goods storage options:

Security

There have been numerous incidents reported in the media of thefts at self storage facilities due to security lapses. Self storage facilities often do not carefully monitor the identification of people into and out of their facilities.

Vermont Moving & Storage has strict security standards. There is no walk in traffic through our storage facilities. Therefore, no one can have access to your storage vault without your stated permission.

Cleanliness

Within a self storage facility, there are no restrictions put on the condition of units within the facility and the items being stored. And since the partitions within the units are not completely closed, any infestation problems in an adjoining unit can affect your unit. Also, at most self storage units, your items are placed directly onto concrete floors. Direct contact with concrete is more conducive to moisture absorption, which can result in mildew forming on your belongings.

At Vermont Moving & Storage, your household goods are stored in containers with built in pallets that keep your belongings 6 inches off the ground. In addition, we inspect items being placed into storage and refuse goods that are hazardous or that appear to be infested. The result is a cleaner environment for your household goods.

Responsibility

There have been many incidents at self-storage facilities of turnover in ownership that make it more difficult to get into the facility and access your belongings. Also, within these facilities there is no record of what is stored in your unit.

Vermont Moving & Storage is a family run moving and storage business. We are a licensed professional warehouse that assumes responsibility for the items we move into, store and move out of our storage facilities. All items and their condition are carefully documented.

Mobile Self Storage Unit

We are pleased to introduce our new line of Mobil Self Storage units! Vermont Moving & Storage, Inc. recently introduced a new line of Mobile Storage Units to our fleet! These units are targeted for use by do-it-yourselfers! We deliver the unit to your location and you load items onto the unit at your leisure! If you need help loading the units, we also have this service available for you! Storage Unit can stay onsite, or in our warehouse. When you are finished with the unit, we will pick it up or deliver it to your new residence for you to unload! Some situations these units are ideal for:

Temporary storage while moving.
Storing items to uncluttered a home when listing it for sale.
Storage for college student’s personal belongings between semesters.
Short-term storage while remodeling a home
Storage for tools & materials for home construction projects
Preparing for garage & yard sales.
